Tyler The Creator - Yonkers

This is that movie...

Before I continue...

Normally, my night consist of stopping at a Stop n' Shop, grabbing my favorite snack ( pretzels or maybe some nachos with salsa) then putting on a new vinyl and listen till I pass out.
But last night was different...
When I studied abroad in spain I found an appreciation for art. More specifically, surrealism.  Salvador Dali is my man. Not only is he a fantastic artist who, started his own style of art but also he had a pet anteater which, he felt acted and treated like a dog.

Oh yes, this guy... First off, I never thought the french could get anymore odd but, then Pow, Dali jumps in a prove to me that the french are f*&%ing insane.

The Film is Called " Un Chien Andalou."

This is what wikipedia has to say...

Un Chien Andalou (French pronunciation: [œ̃ ʃjɛ̃ ɑ̃dalu]An Andalusian Dog) is a 1929 silent surrealist short film by the Spanish director Luis Buñuel and artist Salvador Dalí.[1] It was Buñuel's first film and was initially released in 1929 to a limited showing in Paris, but became popular and ran for eight months.[2]

Dali, was a master of a form of art called surrealism. Basically its art on Acid. The main purpose of this art form is to shock the audience. The art is meant to bring its views into an uncomfortable state... forcing people to feel emotions that are outside of most comfort zones.

Why does this relate to music?...

Lets look at MTV's breakthrough artist of the year, Tyler the Creator, Earl, and the rest of a group called Odd Future.

What this Rap group does is the same as Dali. By watching both videos you will notice a feeling of anxiety. This is what made them a fad. Adolescent boys found a thrill in the ridiculousness of the gore and language of the group just like dali...

Is this what your really want?

Can you find inspiration in this?

The biggest thing any star gives up is there sanity. People like; Nick Drake, Jim Morrison, Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, John bottom, Michael Jackson, etc... All give into the temptation of drugs and alcohol in order to become creative. Every single musician that revolutionize music have all been drug addicts. Heres the list

Even Big names like; Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach. All were " addicted" to ancient medicines such as; cough syrups, absinth, and pain medicine.

For any musician to become a superstar they need good and bad publicity. Drugs and sex is Rock and Roll. And without it... we would have the superstars or the music we have today.
